I can't use locate in SUSE 9.1 Pro is there a reason why it isn't installed?
~ believe you need to install:-
findutils-locate
[ it is not installed, by default]
It's yet another mystery to me why it's not installed by default as it's one of the more useful utils in Linux that distinguishes it from the likes of Solaris as "find /whatever blah-blah -print", not even having "-print0" to tell you where it is, takes ages and is painful enough to bring forth expletive utterances such as f****ggg Sloraris cr**, but is a good earner if you are paid for time spent.
