Hi - Have just finished setting up a new install of SuSE 9.0 but I have encountered the following problem: - my root partition is showing as full even though it is clearly pretty much empty the partition set up is: 3 hard disks - hdi (57.2GB) contains: -- hdi1 for / (46.0GB) -- hdi2 for /install (install files from SuSE FTP - 10.0GB) -- 1.2GB swap - hdk (74.5GB) contains: -- hdk1 for /windows/C (separate windows HD with NTFS has all 74.5GB) -hdl (74.5GB) contains: -- hdl1 for /home (separate partition for /home has all 74.5GB) Additionally I have a 180GB external firewire HD formatted as NTFS (sda1) which mounts on /windows/D There is absolutely no way any of these HDs are anywhere near full (yet)! However, whenever I attempt to install anything with YaST I get a warning telling me that "hard disk is nearly full" and that there is only 165MB of free space in the root partition. KDiskFree tells me the same thing. However, KDirStat says that there is only 2.5GB of stuff in the whole of the root partition. I have tried unmounting hdk1 and sda1 (windows internal and firewire HDs) to see if these were producing the problem but I still get the error. I'm probably missing something really obvious here, but if anyone can shine any light on the cause of this problem and how to fix it, I would be really grateful! Thanks in advance, Chris Townson
