Apt-get is working now but not synaptic. I uninstalled and re-installed synaptic using apt and now when I try to open it a strange thing happens. /usr/sbin/synaptic: relocation error: /opt/gnome/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_type_class_add_private
Don't know who builds Synaptic, but if it looks like it's built against gtk2 >= 2.4.0 and glib2 >= 2.4.0 , and you have gtk2 >= 2.2.0, < 2.3.0 and/or glib2 >= 2.2.0, < 2.3.0 What does rpm -q gtk2 glib2 return? -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org
