Hi, the problem that I have encountered and described previously has been solved: the problem in booting WinXP was a problem in GRUB settings: infact, There was a line missing in the file menu.lst that could provide access to hda1 where WinXP was installed. The set up was (lines added to existing file): title Windows XP root (hd0,0) chainloader +1 And, that's all, my bootloader was ok, with Linux, Windows XP, Failsafe and Floppy. So, it was not a matter of partitions, but something happened that modified booloader set up: indeed, also I had to modify the partitions in order to change mountopints and make the disks correctly accessible in Linux as described in my second mail to the list. Cheers LM
