rebuilding Yast software package DB

Folks-
I have a SuSE 9.0 install and at some point fairly recently the Yast RPM database began showing zero packages installed on my system. kpackage works as expected, but the Yast db is hosed. I've been looking for the way to rebuild it but have come up empty so far. Should I reinstall the yast packager or package-manager module?
