Mike Sacco posted this clue on how to get KDE Updated via Open up YaST and go to Change Source of Installation. Add an ftp one, such as this: ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_8.2/yast-source
Use the 'up' button to make sure this is at the top of the list. Then, back at the main window of YaST, choose system update, and and select only update installed packages.
Yast2 rejected the URL with the message:
Unable to create installation source from URL `http://ftp.us.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.2/SuSE/ix86/9.0/'. Details: ERROR(InstSrc:E_no_instsrc_on_media) Try again?
Looks like the directory structure isn't what Yast is expecting.

I had this, it does accept it, your server has to be ft.suse.com - no slashes and the directory is pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.0/yast-source/suse/ - note no slash at the start, this is then accepted. My error message was "Unable to create installation source from URL `ftp://ftp.us.kde.org//pub/kde/stable/3.2/SuSE/ix86/9.0/'. Details: ERROR(InstSrc:E_no_instsrc_on_media) Try again?" - note the double slash between org and pub. HTH. -- regards, Bill
