My Sapphire Ati Radeon 9500 Pro, AGP, 128 MB worked well in 2D, after selecting the Radeon 8500 in Sax2. I tried the 3.2.4-beta of this fglrx driver, but after that, X became unaccessible, and even in console mode things were so heavily broken that I decided to reinstall 8.2. Rather desastrous....

I had downloaded the 3.2.4-beta also, but did not install it. I didn't try the 8500 settings in sax2, but did a few others, which didn't work well. Isn't the 9500 already supported fully in XFree86 4.3 though? I thought I saw it listed there. I ended up getting the 3.2.5 driver rpm from ATI, installed, built the 3D module for Mantel's latest kernel 2.4.21-64 and off I went. Well, I still had to tinker a bit to fine tune things, but overall, it seems ATI corrected some things in their latest. Very nice card (ATI 9200) and 3D is outstanding with it.
