Everyone I have spoke too about the ATI Radeon 9000 comments it works
directly with XFree86 4.3. The 3rd party boards are somewhat different
and you may experience problems with anything other than the ATI binary
drivers.
I wanted the 9200 though for the improved engine and 128mb ddr ram on
the card. It was only $20 higher than the 9000 64mb card. I actually
have it working presently with the ATI binary drivers in 2D, but it
complained about my k_athlon kernel when building the 3D modules for
the kernel. I am thinking about making some symlinks to point to my
installed kernel to get that. It's a fast board, no doubt and it
wasn't as big a problem as I thought to get working, but I must admit,
I would rather have it working with XFree86 4.3 than the ATI drivers.
