Just wondering if anyone is running the new Radeon 9200 card in their Any help is welcomed to get this baby working with SuSE. It does come up in VESA mode, but I was unable to get a full kde boot out of it.
From what little I have seen so far it appears quite speedy. :o)
What sort of errors do you get if you try to load X with the radeon driver? I'm still struggling to get SuSE going on a friend's computer with a "Gigabyte Radeon 9000 Pro II" It moans that there are no screens to be found. I don't know if there is something non standard about this chip - haven't gotten a good answer out of anyone yet.
Maybe we have the same problem? This is the only thing keeping me from getting a Radeon 9x00 myself...

Everyone I have spoke too about the ATI Radeon 9000 comments it works directly with XFree86 4.3. The 3rd party boards are somewhat different and you may experience problems with anything other than the ATI binary drivers. I wanted the 9200 though for the improved engine and 128mb ddr ram on the card. It was only $20 higher than the 9000 64mb card. I actually have it working presently with the ATI binary drivers in 2D, but it complained about my k_athlon kernel when building the 3D modules for the kernel. I am thinking about making some symlinks to point to my installed kernel to get that. It's a fast board, no doubt and it wasn't as big a problem as I thought to get working, but I must admit, I would rather have it working with XFree86 4.3 than the ATI drivers.
