Hi there I have SuSE 8.2 Pro under KDE 3.1.1 running the default keramik style and gtk and gtk2 applications running the geramik theme. When I start an application based on gtk2 (gaim-0.62, etc.) under KDE the fonts are very ugly (I use default sans fonts under gnome2 and the "apply fonts&colors to non-kde appplications" is checked. Now if is start the gnome controlcenter and click the font box all gtk2 applications which are running get their correct fonts. Second problem related to gtk2: I want to compile some programs based on gtk2 but running "./configure" fails saying that gtk2+ libraries are not installed. I installed all the packages available for gnome from the CD's and everything else that contained gtk but I still get the same error. Could somebody help, please!
ovidiu, Have you installed the ttf-bitstream-vera fonts yet for Gnome? These fonts cured all problems I had with the Gnome side and it's programs! I am sorry, I have forgotten the site url, but would be happy to upload them to you, if you haven't already installed them. I use them for KDE as well and find that they are some of the best displayed fonts ever. I seem to have found the url: http://www.gnome.org/fonts/ On the gtk2 thing, make sure you have all the devel files installed as well to do compiling. Go to YaST2 and do a search for -devel and you should get a great many hits. Check the list over to see what you think you might need.
