I have SuSE 8.2 Pro under KDE 3.1.1 running the default keramik style and gtk and gtk2 applications running the geramik theme. When I start an application based on gtk2 (gaim-0.62, etc.) under KDE the fonts are very ugly (I use default sans fonts under gnome2 and the "apply fonts&colors to non-kde appplications" is checked. Now if is start the gnome controlcenter and click the font box all gtk2 applications which are running get their correct fonts.
I'm seeing the same issue here with gtk2 apps having large fonts in KDE 3.1.1 under SuSE 8.2. I've tried changing gtk themes a couple of times, but the apps seem to ignore this setting when they are running under KDE. I've also tried creating a ".gtkrc-2.0" file with one line in it: gtk-font-name = "Courier 8" That didn't help either. If I try these apps under Window Maker, the fonts look normal. Is that a clue by any chance? Finally, where is the "apply fonts & colors to non-kde applications" checkbox? In 3.1.1, all I see is an option for colors, not fonts. thanks! -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions
