Yes, it's running zone alarm.
Try stopping Zone Alarm and see if it works. It is probably blocking ports 137-139 (and should if this was pointing to the internet) and not allowing SMB to work. If it is the free version, you do not have much ability to control it's settings. You need 137, 138 UDP and 139 TCP open.
Okay Joe, I tried that. Same error. Could this be an internal setting to XP? Also, are you sure that error means something is bad on the client side? So far I haven't been able to find anything that indicates what that error means.
Did you tick "enable Netbios over TCP/IP" on your XP machine? (properties Local Area connection > properties TCP/IP > Advanced > WINS tab) Marcel
