* Tom Wesley (tawesley@yahoo.com) [030225 12:00]:
I have a quick question, exactly when does /etc/profile and ~/.profile get executed?
For login shells.
Will it happen when I login through a ssh prompt remotely?
Yes.
And if so, is there any way I can stop things from running remotely?
What things?
Even better, is there a good source online of what files the shell etc executes at startup, login and logout.
The man page for your shell should explain it. -- -ckm
