You may want to look into using expect. It is a program to turn
interactive sessions into non-interactive sessions. I use this at work to
automate tasks that would otherwise require human responses.

I have posted this before, and have not found a solution.
I get disconnected by my ISP after 36 hours. Setup is SuSE 8.1, Adsl through Speedtouch usb, Kinternet, Dial on demand, auto reconnect.
The problem is I do not get reconnected automatically. I guess I could set up a cronjob to kill pppd and restart it manually every 35 hours for example.
Manually, I have to :
killall smpppd smpppd &
(that's the easy part in a cronjob)
but then I need to click the Kinternet Icon and choose 1. reconnect to the server and 2. dial in.
How could I do that in a cron job?
Thanks
FX
