Thanks for your help. I tried this but I get the message that the mount point doesn't exist. Bill On Saturday 01 February 2003 12:22, zentara wrote:

Gphoto etc doesn't work because this camera is not supported. I'm using SuSE 8.1. When using "'usbview"' I get """USB.UHCI Root Hub"""......Digital Still camera. Is there something what I haven't done? or forgot. Can anybody help me out here? Thanks very much.
I'll take a wild guess and give you the standard answer for hooking up usb cameras. It usually works, but not all cameras work this way. Most do.
1. Make sure your usb is running, "rchotplug start" (or restart)
2. Plug in your camera to the usb cable, and turn it on. You should here a beep when the usb system finds the camera.
3. "mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/camera" ( or wherever you want to mount) (you might try a different sda? if you have some other scsi drives)
4. Look thru /mnt/camera and copy off the photos.
