Hi Don,
The monitor model was choosed by SuSE too and did not worked. I tried to change to the right monitor by choosing it from the list, (Hansol) 90P - I think - but no X11 started with it. Yes I tried to configure X11 with xfconfig, but the results was the same. With Sax2 couldn't do anything, it doesn't start... :-(
Maybe I'll try to make up an X11Config by hand as you suggest :-)
Thanks for all help I've got... Vidor

for it, considering there's only one driver that comes with X for the Radeon series cards.
Did you make sure your friend chose the right monitor model for his setup and that it is using the right refresh rates? Have you considered making up an X11Config by hand? It'll be a lot easier than compiling X from
To all SuSE gurus,
I just picked up a Radeon 8500 (evil master II Pro by power color) and
SuSE8.1 installed it as R200QL.
I don't have the slightest idea on how to compile X11Config "by hand" would
some be so kind as to give me a few pointers to get be started.
For example
What is the X11Config source_file called ?
What are required librairies?
What is the basic procedure ?
I imagine that it must be something like ...
tar xvf source_file
./configure
make
Thanks in advance
