I just installed the wlan kernel module and rebooted -- (used the RPM) and poof -- off and running... Not sure what the "difficulty" is -- can you clarify a bit? I never tried it with "stock" anything, so maybe I am missing something, but it only took me 10 minutes, if that. ciao Kat On Sun, 2002-10-13 at 20:39, Bernie Gardner wrote:
I have just installed 8.1 (fresh install after unsatisfactory upgrade attempt) and everything seems to be working except the wireless lan. The card is a linksys wpc11 which I had working (after much difficulty) in 8.0. I had hoped SuSE might have improved the setup for pcmcia wireless cards, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Yast2 has a provision for pcmcia and now a provision for wireless, but the two selections don't seem to be compatible. I'm going to try to reconstruct what I did before from saved configuration files, but if someone has figured out any hints I would greatly appreciate hearing them.
Thanks,
