I have posted this on the Abiword list, but it has been suggested that I post it here as well.
Makes sense :)
I have downloaded and installed AbiWord 1.0.1 from the Sourceforge mirrors. Application /usr/share/AbiSuite/bin/AbiWord process 1055 (the number varies) has crashed due to a fatal error. Segmentation fault.
Is this in a gnome-segv window, or have you run it from the command line, and this is dumped to stdout? If the former, could you do the latter, and post the output?
I have regularly updated AbiWord and have not had this problem before. As no one else has mentioned it, I am assuming that it is not a bug but a problem with my installation. What is puzzling is that it runs when in Root. Starting it from a terminal does not give any messages of libraries missing.
Am I to assume that it *does* complain about libraries when you run it as a regular user? It does sound like a prob with your system rather than the builds, especially as you had the same issue with various packages...
