Hi all, Is there a way to show a list of loaded libraries, perhaps by process owner? I have a tool that does this in Windows as part of the Visual Studio environment, but I don't know what the equivalent is in Linux, or if there is one. Thanks, -ronc -- 9:03am up 1 day, 22:48, 1 user, load average: 0.24, 0.33, 0.15

I'm not sure what you mean by "loaded" libraries but you can tell which ones are currently being accessed with lsof. Something like lsof | egrep '/.*lib/' -- -ckm
I have posted this on the Abiword list, but it has been suggested that I post it here as well. I have downloaded and installed AbiWord 1.0.1 from the Sourceforge mirrors. It runs if I am logged in as Root, but if I am logged in as a User, when I try to start AbiWord, it crashes with the error message: Application /usr/share/AbiSuite/bin/AbiWord process 1055 (the number varies) has crashed due to a fatal error. Segmentation fault. When I try to run AbiWord on one desktop, all four of my desktops have the splash screen on them. The splash screens remain until I clear the error message. I have tried installing the SuSE-jeo RPMs, the Gnome and GTK RPMs, and compiling the tar.gz version (with the fonts and spelling RPMs, of course). All give me the same result. The process number varies with the different installations. With all of the downloaded versions, I have tried both upgrading the working version which is supplied with SuSE8 and also uninstalling it and doing a clean install of just the downloads. Can't think of anything else to try! I have regularly updated AbiWord and have not had this problem before. As no one else has mentioned it, I am assuming that it is not a bug but a problem with my installation. What is puzzling is that it runs when in Root. Starting it from a terminal does not give any messages of libraries missing. Finally, I installed the GTK RPMs on Mandrake 8.2, which I have on a spare hard drive. AbiWord ran both as Root and User. If any one can please help, I would be extremely grateful. Many thanks Keith

Makes sense :)

Is this in a gnome-segv window, or have you run it from the command line, and this is dumped to stdout? If the former, could you do the latter, and post the output?

Am I to assume that it *does* complain about libraries when you run it as a regular user? It does sound like a prob with your system rather than the builds, especially as you had the same issue with various packages... Hello James. Thanks for your prompt reply. I think this is the information you need! When starting AbiWord from the menu in either Gnome or KDE3 as Root, it runs correctly. Starting from the console command line in Root, it runs correctly. There are no messages in the console window. Starting from the menu in either Gnome or KDE3 as User, gives the error box and message, and there is the splash screen which remains until I cancel the error message. Starting from the console command line in Gnome or KDE3 as User, gives the same error message and splash screen. There are no messages at all in the console window. There is just this error box which I have described. The stdout file does not mention AbiWord, but I am sending it in case it helps. I have heard of one other person who has had this problem, but has been unable to cure it. Thank you for you help. If there is anything else you would like me to try, let me know. I had the same problem. All I did was delete all former AbiWord versions and directories, and then installed the jeo rpm. It's working perfectly for all users and desktops. On Thu, 2002-05-23 at 03:34, Keith Powell wrote:
