Not showing up for me almost 4 hours after the post. Unless it was placed on another server I do not yet know about.
It was there just after I posted the message, I guess you're not having the component "extra" in you're /etc/apt/sources.list file. Have a look at the example sources.list files at (depending on your suse version): http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/7.3-i386/examples/sources.list.FT... http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.0-i386/examples/sources.list.FT... More information about synaptic can be obtained as well as at: http://distro.conectiva.com.br/projetos/46/
Cheers.

Synaptic is a graphical front-end for APT (Advanced Package Tool) written with the Window Maker toolkit. It attempts to be a lot easier to use than other existing APT front-ends. Instead of using trees to display packages, Synaptic is heavily based on a powerful package filtering system. That greatly simplifies the interface while giving a lot more flexibility to browse through very long package lists. -- Richard Bos Democracy cost a fortune
