It would be nice if the Suse install created a kernel .config file that could be dropped into a new kernel source code directory. That way we could run 'make oldconfig' and be sure it'll work. But it doesn't.. :-( -----Original Message----- From: David [mailto:dg@stanwater.fsnet.co.uk] Sent: 28 December 2001 11:12 To: SLE Subject: Re: [SLE] Upgrading the SuSE kernel I have noticed this thread running and thought that I might have a go at it. I have Suse 7.2. Never had any success at installing a kernel to date.
From the files listed, in what order should they be installed? I would appreciate any hints.

How about just getting these rpm's? Why both doing all the patching that SuSE does yourself when Hubert has done a tremendous job of it. It's a lot of needless work.
