I'm needing to dial up to my SuSE 7.3 machine. Can't find much in the manuals about setting up the mgetty for dial in.
Make sure you install the mgetty package. That even caused the following example line to be added to /etc/inittab. # mo:235:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 38400 modem Uncomment the line and either change modem to ttyS0 (assuming your modem is COM1) or make sure /dev/modem is linked to ttyS0. Type init q or reboot and you should be given a login when you dial in. Works well. Greg Engel
