Hi, modversions.h is a file that as far as I can see isn't used. At least not in suse's default kernels. I've compiled several things successfully simply by doing 'touch /usr/src/linux/include/linux/modversions.h' and so far nothing has broken. If there's someone here who knows what modversions.h is meant to do, and if a simple 'touch' can be wrong, here's a good time to jump in :) regards Anders On Wednesday 21 November 2001 17:54, Erik Jakobsen wrote:
Hi. I now try to install WMvare on my suse 7.2 system.
I get errors as follows, and what is causing them ??:
Do you accept? (yes/no) yes
Thank you.
Trying to find a suitable vmmon module for your running kernel.
None of VMware's pre-built vmmon modules is suitable for your running kernel. Do you want this script to try to build the vmmon module for your system (you need to have a C compiler installed on your system)? [yes] yes
What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]
