Hi Erik!
Hi Jimmo.
Check out the SuSE knowlege base, by doing a search on vmware express I had the exact same problem (but with 7.3). Essentially you have a mismatch between the running kernel and the source code tree under /usr/src/linux. I followed the steps and it worked great.
Thanks for this. I'll try that.
Regards,
jimmo

bash-2.05# rpm -qf /usr/src/linux/include/linux/module.h kernel-source-2.4.4.SuSE-17 It looks like you must install: kernel-source-2.4.4.SuSE-17 I have vmware Express installed on SuSE 7.2 and, if you must run Windows and Linux together, I recommend it. The performance hit on Windows is substantial, so I recommend having lots of power and RAM. vmware performs fine on my box -- I have 256Mb RAM and dual 500MHz Pentium IIs running in an SMP configuration. Having the full capability of both OSes on the same box with Windows running in one virtual screen of KDE, copy and paste text data between Linux and Windows apps, and drag and drop files on the Windows side between Linux and Windows, seems to me the ultimate in convenience. Best, Dwight
Hi, modversions.h is a file that as far as I can see isn't used. At least not in suse's default kernels. I've compiled several things successfully simply by doing 'touch /usr/src/linux/include/linux/modversions.h' and so far nothing has broken. If there's someone here who knows what modversions.h is meant to do, and if a simple 'touch' can be wrong, here's a good time to jump in :) regards Anders On Wednesday 21 November 2001 17:54, Erik Jakobsen wrote:
