When you get this message, close the running copy of Mozilla, and then use
ps xa|grep -i mozilla to find the other copies of mozilla which are running
and kill them. Then try to run mozilla again as a regular user. This is
what I did and it worked fine (I forgot I had to do so). Better yet, as I
mentioned in a previous posting, if you do Java development, get the
Blackdown 1.3 JDK and follow their instructions on how to install their
plugin. It seems to work better then the Netscape/Mozilla supplied one.

the http://www.mozilla.org site had a link to the jre.xpi file from the download page for 0.9.2 for Linux. I downloaded this and attempted to install it as root. It seemed to install OK, but the next time I started Mozilla, I got a dialog that said something like, "Previous installation attempt did not finish. Please restart". I could not get rid of the message, so I re-installed from scratch without the plug-ins last night.
