I am a recent Suse convert and am using 7.1. When attempting to install the rpm version of RealPlayer8 I am getting an "unknown architecture" error message ...any thoughts?...I considered trying the non-rpm version but am unfamiliar with the .bin file format so any thoughts in this regard are welcome as well...

I got the same thing. Tried -i and -U and -force - nodep and none worked. I think it is because of being compiled for RH, whereas RealPlayer7 wasn't. I reverted back to RealPlayer7. JLK
The keyword is --ignorearch, and neither -force nor -nodep. It does the trick and I can enjoy RealPlayer8. -Kastus
