I am a recent Suse convert and am using 7.1. When attempting to install the rpm version of RealPlayer8 I am getting an "unknown architecture" error message ...any thoughts?...I considered trying the non-rpm version but am unfamiliar with the .bin file format so any thoughts in this regard are welcome as well...
The .bin file format is no big deal. It's just an executable so you run it as you would any other program from a prompt. However, it didn't seem to install nicely under SuSE 7.0 with lots of things not pointing quite correctly. Also, RealPlayer8 was less stable on SuSE 7.0. I've upgraded to 7.1, but I've been waiting to hear other people's experience before mucking things up by trying to put RealPlayer8 on it. Finally, RealPlayer7 seems to work fine for most programs.
