If you have any luck burnig music cds in a timely fashion please let me know how you did it. Data burns fine, I started a music cd this am and 12 hours later it still hadent finished. Feel free to correspond on or off list. Id like to get the music side going a bit better
12 hours????
Yes! and it never even finished! It (x-cdroast) hangs while copying music to the hard drive. It copied about 6 tracks to the hard drive directory (from which I was able to play the songs through x-cdroast) but I ended up aborting the actual writing, due to having the machine tied up. The interesting thing is that I burns data fine, very acceptable speed. I dont think my cds are scratched alothough I may try another experiment using a different cd. what burning tool are you using? (the command line tool) Id try and give that a shot although I would thing the x-cdroast should be able to burn music acceptably. My cd reader is 48x and the writer is 8x hummm... looking at the boot.msg [grep scsi] <4>ide_setup: hdc=ide-scsi <4>ide_setup: hdd=ide-scsi <4>scsi : 0 hosts. <4>scsi : detected total. <4>scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices <4>scsi : 1 host. <4>Detected scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 <4>Detected scsi CD-ROM sr1 at scsi0, channel 0, id 1, lun 0 <4>sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 32x/32x writer cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray <4>sr1: scsi3-mmc drive: 0x/48x cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray seems to be identifying the writer incorrectly sr0 should say 8x4x32 [grep hd] <4>ide_setup: hdc=ide-scsi <4>ide_setup: hdd=ide-scsi <4> ide0: BM-DMA at 0x9000-0x9007, BIOS settings: hda:pio, hdb:pio <4> ide1: BM-DMA at 0x9008-0x900f, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio <4>hda: Maxtor 90845U2, ATA DISK drive <4>hdc: 8X4X32, ATAPI CDROM drive <4>hdd: CD-ROM Drive/F5A, ATAPI CDROM drive <6>hda: Maxtor 90845U2, 8063MB w/2048kB Cache, CHS=1027/255/63 Im at a losss as to why the above messages dont jive... and why x-roast cant do music.
