You can find instructions for adding lilo to the Win2K bootloader here http://www.littlewhitedog.com/reviews_other_00011.asp This was using Mandrake 7.1 but it works the same witn SuSe. SuSe does not include Grub. You can find info and even download it from here http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/ I saw the post from Gary. The prcedures to which he referred will not work if you are using the Win2K bootloader. They work only if you are booting directly to Win2K. To have any hope of restoring the Win2K bootloader you must run the installation cd in Rescue mode, have available a Win2K rsecue floppy you created after installation and you must have installed using NTFS. Lilo and Grub are different type bootloaders Lilo writes itself to the MBR where as Grub does not. I am used to old faithful Lilo and haven't got a clue how GRUB works or where it comes from.
Since you are already using the Win2K bootloader I would stongly suggest that you use either Grub or edit your boot.ini and add SuSe to it. Well, W2 installed it's bootloader without asking any questions so I'm stuck with it at the moment.....:-) About W2 boot.ini could you show me an example of how it might look like with SuSE in it?
Do Not use Lilo, or if you choose to do so Do Not use fdisk /MBR should you ever decide to remove it or you will also remove your Win2K boot record. That's what I was afraid of therefore I am a bit nervous what to do. I am Linux centered, SuSE is my default OS, but I just don't know how Lilo works with W2.
