Hi Arjen, I've just reemembered that it has to be started with the argument 'start' ...by the supersuser ... as in ' ../wvdial.dod start ' ........this is why it doesn't start off the S22 link... Should i add a line to the bottom of my boot.local ? I'd hate to mess anything up wothout consulting you .. :) Since this is such a crucial machine :) Regards Anurag ---- Arjen Runsink wrote:

Hi Arjen,
I have updated my wvdial using YAST via FTP ... the original 6.4 wvdial.dod starts on boot but aborts with an error .............
The updated one, doesn't start at all, despite there being S22wvdial & K22wvdial links being present under /sbin/init.d/rc2.d and /sbin/init.d/rc3.d ............
Check the script in init.d it probably needs a parameter set in /etc/rc.config or in /etc/rc.config.d/something that needs to be set yes
also check /var/log/messages for extra info
