Good question thogh , does corel WPO2000 ise wine or winelib ?
Uh, I meant is WP8 (not 2000) using WINELIB or does it use something COREL created internally? WP2000 uses WINELIB. Any app ported from Windows, and compiled in Linux using any type of WINE will use WINELIB. Wine is only for apps that weren't ported.
If your using win98 on a 486 , then I am preetty sure you would be ahppy with corel WPO2000 on a P150.
We'll actually I use a PII 450 with 256 Megs of RAM for most of my work, but I do administer a two 486 (including my 486 DX4 laptop and the aforementioned DX2 66 desktop). I on the other hand use an AMD K6/350 , and use the P150 , and just couldent stand waiting for WPO2000 to redraw the sceen and such. Spioled you maight say.
I bet you would realy freak pout with one of the new gigahertz PIII/athalons.

You defend Winelib here but in your last message you admit to what I think is a showstopper. If these Windows apps are using different versions of Winelib then we are going to run into our own version of dll hell. Not to
As long as it keeps it's libraries in it's own directory, "DLL hell" won't
happen in Linux.

Any proof winelib apps run slower? I must beg to differ with Samy anyway. I have Windows 98 running nicely on a 486 DX2 66 and really good on both a Pentium 100 and a PPro 166. Nearly any modern hardware can handle Windows based code.
worked great for me and I will continue using it as long as it runs on my system. When WP8 no longer runs, I will switch to another native wordprocessor.
Doesn't WP8 use Winelib too? And if not, it probably has some proprietary

similar to it - unless you really believe Corel wrote WP8 from scratch for Linux.
