Hi, You know the solution worked, however I'm getting ping times that are insane. Pinging machines on my local network I get ping times returned averaging about 1200ms. Why is this so slow? Is there some configuration change I need to make? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ---Andy Calyth wrote:
There's an obvious solution with the 3c509s. They're known to have PNP turned on and they do not function under Linux with PNP turned on. You need to go to DOS (either installed or boot disked) then use the second disk for the NIC (you can download from 3com), and run the pnpdsabl.bat. Then reboot back to linux and the NIC should work fine. Keep that in mind whenever you add 3c509s or any other NICs for that matter.
