I've searched the SuSE 6.4 Linux book but can't find any information about "built in" sound support. How do I check and see if sound support is "built in"
If you're using the SuSE-supplied kernel, then sound support is built as modules. You'll have to recompile your kernel (see the SuSE manual about that).
Thanks for the information but I read in the new manual/installation (p. 476) guide that it is no longer necessary to recompile the kernel.
How do I check and see if "Data::Dumper" is installed? I assume it is not since I tried to install TkApache and get no response.
Try this:
perl -MData::Dumper -e 'exit'
If this doesn't give you an error message, Data::Dumper is installed (AFAIK it's a standard perl module -- if you have perl installed, you have Data::Dumper as well).
Thank you for the information. The Data::Dumper is installed. - Carpe Diem! - Don - http://members.home.net/dongoodwin/ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
