Hi there, I just finished downloading a program called KBlade - it's a front end under KDE for BladeEnc, a MP3 encoder. The basic installation goes as follows: 1. `cd' to the directory containing the package's source code and type `./configure' to configure the package for your system. If you're using `csh' on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from trying to execute `configure' itself. Running `configure' takes a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for. 2. Type `make' to compile the package. 3. Type `make install' to install the programs and any data files and documentation. 4. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean'. So far so good. ./configure gives me the following messages: loading cache ./config.cache checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no checking whether we are using GNU C... yes checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... g++ -E checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths! What exactly does that mean and how do I fix this? Thanks. - Yatsen Ng Den Haag, The Netherlands yatsenng@casema.net It said "Needs Windows 95 or better".
