Kev and Bill, I have had problems with Sax. It has turned out to be the mouse causing the problems. The same can be said for xf86config. A long time ago I ended up reading the man pages, and/or HowTo for XFree86 in order to get what I needed for my video card. It was a bit tough, but I finally figured it out. One good idea might be to determine the exact make and model of your card and ask the list if anybody is using it. They could send you the settings they have in their /etc/XF86Config, and as long as you adjust for the correct pointing device and monitor parameters, you should be able to use their settings.
