Ray, I downloaded this driver as well. It was a very good improvement over the XFree stuff...just one small drawback. If you plan on playing Quake 3..forget it. The driver from nVidia has a line at the bottom of the readme that says their release has problems with Quake 3. I would say it does. One can play the game for about 10 minutes and then X freezes rock solid. I went back to the 3.3.X version in SuSE 6.3 and I play for hours worry free. just my 0.02
Looking at the dates for the glx module on the nvidia web page, it looks like there is a newer version than the one included on the 6.3 distribution. Will this new version be made available as an upgrade for 6.3, or will I have to load 6.4 to get it? I tried the one included on 6.3, and it did make things run a LOT faster, but it also caused a large number of artifacts - lines that shouldn't be there, etc. This made it unusable for my applications. I am hoping some more work has been done to clean things up in the newer version.
