Hi, I'ma new Suse 6.3 user ... Everything in my install went fine but I have two question:
I used Yast (not Yast2) because I find no way to do manually partition in the hard disk. There is any way to accomplish that?
IIRC, Not yet.
My sound card ES1371 refuses to work As I fin in the newsgroup this is a common problem among people with SMP motherboard. Anyone has solved this problem?
The solution (at this point) is to use the commercial OSS driver http://www.opensound.com ($20 US + $10 for AudioPCI option) or the free ALSA drivers http://www.alsa-project.org. I will warn you; the ALSA drivers are not perfect yet. There is an ALSA RPM on the SuSE CD set [snd], but I do not know if they work as-is with SMP or if you will have to compile your own. For information on configuring ALSA, look at the /etc/conf.modules file. There's already an example ALSA configuration there :). -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | Kansas City, MO /\\ 816-241-2641 x107 | http://www.atipa.com _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
