I hate to say it, but this is the biggest pain in my butt too. I will bet that it will compile and run with RedHat. The only reason I have RH is that some things I have to have will only work easily in RH. Sounds kinda like some propaganda outa Redmond? Dunno what to say. I duual boot RedHat and SuSE on two machines here.

This has been happening too often for my taste. I find a program I like on freshmeat.net and when I ./configure I get an error "C++ compiler cannot create executable. " WTF Well, why the bloody hell not!? This has happened with 3 of the last 4 src's I've downloaded. It's a pretty fresh install. SuSE 6.2 PII 350 x2 64mb Kernel 2.2.14 and sometimes 2.3.39 What am I missing? Ian
