Though I may know my way around the DOS world, I am rather ignorant when it comes to Linux. I do however have a strong desire to stop lining Bill Gates' pockets by supporting his Junkware. The SuSE LINUX 6.3 Manual (page 4) says, "But that is not all: with KDE and GNOME, there are not one, but two, free and comfortable graphical desktops available which themselves make the call for 'Linux on the desktop' ever louder." This leads me to believe that I should choose one or the other. Then I read the message board posts that seem to indicate that they could be used together, but it may not be a good idea. I haven't even gotten the distribution installed due to this confusion. I need the information to decide which one, if any, I should install. Do I need either of them to run a GUI with the X system? How do I decide which one to use? Linux Wannabe, Harland Grimes ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
