A couple of packages check for /etc/SuSE-release and I suggest to deprecate it and use the new cross-distro location /etc/SuSE-release instead. I've asked Coolo to addthe following line to the end of /etc/SuSE-release now: # /etc/SuSE-release is deprecated and will be removed in the future, use /etc/os-release instead I filed a few bugs against SUSE packages that check /etc/SuSE-release to switch and suggest that you fix - and send upstream - any checks for /etc/SuSE-release.
