Happy New Year!
A problem exists with kdetoys3/kweather (all openSUSE versions). kweather does not work, not because of a bug, only because it is outdated. The internet adress/service coded in kweather, from which it retrives informations is no longer reachable. weather.noaa.gov switched to aviationweather.gov (the way of retrieving informations has probably changed too, but I am not sure)
That's true. KWeather does not work because of the internet address has changed last year, however we have workaround. I have tried this and works good. (See attached file) https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/comments/4zr0bv/weather_report_1120_... 1. Download "getmetar.cgi" and do the dry-run. 2. Install web server on your machine. 3. Go on to "DocumentRoot" and mkdir -p pub/data/observations/metar/stations 4. Add cron job on your machine like this. 09 */3 * * * curl -4 "http://localhost/getmetar.cgi?RJAA" >/srv/www/pub/data/observations/metar/stations/RJAA.TXT 2>/dev/null 5. Add following line on your /etc/hosts. 127.0.0.1 weather.noaa.gov By the way, I have confirmed the latest version of TDE R14.0.4 has been fixed this problem on openSUSE Leap 42.2.
