No, the unmaintained part is true by simple logic. You are confusing packaged code with maintained code. It is impossible for one or even a few persons to maintain all of Qt3, KDE3 and KDE3 apps' code. There were dozens if not hundreds of people doing that job before. Adding a few patches does not change anything – since you can only patch what you find and your patches can only be as good as your knowledge of the code. I wonder who would claim to know Qt3's code to the extend the devs at Trolltech/Nokia did. Same for KDE3's etc. Just because I can build a kernel and add a few patches I find, does not mean in any way that I provide a maintained kernel package. So Qt3 etc. being unmaintained code-wise is a simple fact not related in any way to packages still building.
