[opensuse-kde] KDE4.1 versus KDE-3.5.9 in low memory computers.Change or not change.

I have OpenSuSE 11.0 installed,with KDE-3.5.9.I want
to upgrade to OpenSuSE 11.1,with KDE-4.1,I have read
on the Internet that KDE4.1 is better than KDE3 in
memory management,but others disagree and say that
KDE4 needs more memory than KDE-3.5.9.My system has
less than 256M,so I do not want to change to KDE-4.1
if that means a too slow computer.Any opinions?
