That's it exactly. I have a new box built to replace the one now running 10.2. Desktop "panning" is crucial, so I have to pick an OS to install that has it. What is the newest openSUSE that does, 10.2?
I'd expect that this problem will go away if you simply completely disable the randr extension in xorg.conf .
I looked for howto do this in man pages, couldn't find in xorg.conf or xrandr pages, and could find no randr page.
