Hello all,
I've this weird problem with my SUSE 9.1 pro. Every now and then when I log out KDE it freezes. The computer is so dead that I can't even do anything and I have to restart it. I'm not sure where I must start to debug it. I couldn't find uot anything wrong in /var/log/messages just before the freezing.I have a samba server 3.0.9-2.6 on it but apart from that I'm not doing any kind of networking. I have installed all the pathces via YaST but see no Difference. I would be grateful if somebody could shed light on it.
regards Hamid

I'm having the same problem with SuSE 9.2. I believe the problem is either with Xorg or fglrx driver. I don't think it's a KDE issue. See my post "logout freeze" from yesterday in suse-linux-e. Does your screen go black and hang? Can you do a ctrl+alt+backspace and restart X within KDE? Are you using Xorg or Xfree? I can not restart my X server within KDE with ctrl+alt+backspace...I get the same freeze as if I were to logout. -- Jake Sallee spark@breathdedeeply.com www.breathedeeply.com Registered Linux User #358012 http://counter.li.org
