Hi! I am sorry but I do not completely understand what you are complaining so passionate about: I am following many mailing lists and I have seen postings made in many ways. Could you please point me to a netiquette page where the rules that you are reffering to are mentioned? What I have noticed it that the people that are losing an argument are shifting the discussion towards an insignificant issue like this in order to make the 'opponent' to look 'rude', so his points of view would become compromised, too. So please point me to a page ,preferably SuSE page, where the rules you defend so passionate are listed. I would like to correct the mistakes I am not knowingly making! br /radu On Sunday 21 September 2003 06:19, Patrick Shanahan wrote:

Sorry Patrick, you're way out here. Topposting and trimming have NOTHING to do with Radu's original response. And if you like it or not he is 100% right.
Don't believe that I have argued his stance, just his manners. And if you followed the thread, it wandered slightly. You have snipped the connection. The point became posting to the list _and_ to the previous poster, unnecessary and irritating if you read many and/or large lists.
I'm subscribed to a number of SuSE related lists and yes the only time you see a different language appearing, it is German.
Rather broad statement. Take an awful amount of research to make a stand here.
Even on the Openoffice list with questions from all over the world ,it are the Germans who break the rules.
Again.
Please trim the _old_ sigs when you quote. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org
