I got a Yakumo Quicksilver USB 2.0 flash-memory. My SuSE 8.2 box has only a usb 1.1 port but the device was recognized (as /dev/sda1 on one machine and /dev/sdc1 on another). The problem appeared when I tried to mount the memory, I got an error message about wrong filesystem or bad blocks.
Never had an USB flash memory yet but: is it already formatted? If yes, do you know what type of filesystem? If not: have you tried to create a filesystem?
