Thanks. Then I am guessing there should be no reason why I can't just zypper in the rstudio rpm package which I have been doing for awhile. Why then am I getting this error when trying to install the rpm package?
You should remove the installed version, probably using "make uninstall", but that should not impede the rpm from working.

I don't have it clear. One posibility is that your rpm database is corrupted, in which case you have to do something like: rpm --rebuilddatabase but I'm not sure of the syntax (not in man). Another posibility is that the oneclick you used is bad. If you know where is the rpm file, just download it and use "rpm" to install it. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R.
