Well, with "something similar" i didn't mean exactly what i proposed but, eh, something similar ;-) Ok, anyway, good point. Didn't know that "apper" is such independent from the desktop environment. I like that. But this is an opensuse mailinglist, and opensuse has KDE as its favorite desktop environment. Of course that's not an argument to ignore the other desktops and favor an isolated solution in the long term. But (i repeat myself) if apper is such buggy as reported from me and other posters, in a way that a linux beginner isn't able to keep his system up to date, then i would favour a temporary isolated workaround until apper is fixed. Otherwise i would call opensuse "beta". To come to an end: Meanwhile i'm not sure how far apper is buggy: Bugs that i can't reproduce anymore, other new bugs which i never saw before, and others can't reproduce at all(?). ... I'm heavily confused, perhaps i'm doing something wrong? Hope it comes to a good end in the final release :-) db [1] https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=737618 [2] https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=777938 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
