So given the uncertain status of the release of 12.2 milestone 2 would it be the right thing to install milestone 1 if I want to contribute to testing?
No... the idea is to stay current with the development, and report issues on that version. The old one may already have been corrected. If you can not install the current version for something, you should report that issue, and then wait for the next version. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
