No... the idea is to stay current with the development, and report issues on that version. The old one may already have been corrected. I upgraded 2 boxes to 12.2 Milestone 2. I made the change to the NVidia driver kernel/conftest.sh on the box with the NVidia card, built the module and rebooted. No problems experienced so far.
